Winery "Teliani Valley" plans to expand into international markets. As the company’s commercial director, Irakli Bokuchava, told BM.GE, negotiations are currently underway with the Gulf countries, which he believes will be successful.
According to Bokuchava, the company’s products are currently available in 30 countries and 85% of sales account for exports. The Baltic countries and Poland are particularly successful markets. He adds that in five months, the company’s sales in the international and local markets have increased by 10%.
“We are making progress in the US market, albeit at a slow pace. The tariffs imposed by Trump have caused some uncertainty, which has hindered trade processes. In addition, exports to the UK have also increased this year, and we have already entered the supermarket chain. We can say that there are quite interesting prospects in this regard,” Bokuchava noted.
According to him, the price of the company’s wines in international markets fluctuates on average within 10 Euros, while in the restaurant sector it depends on the country and tourist destination.
As for the local market, Teliani Veli’s products have been sold in Georgia for a long time, which creates certain challenges for the company in terms of expansion. Accordingly, the main goal of the company this year is to maintain and strengthen its leading positions in the local market.
