Wissol to Begin Fuel Price Cuts in Coming Days as Global Oil Prices Decline

Wissol

Wissol plans to start reducing fuel prices in its retail network in the coming days following a sharp decline in international fuel prices, the company’s General Director Vasil Khorava told BM.GE.

According to Khorava, fuel prices on international markets, measured by the Platts benchmark, have fallen by approximately $100–150 per tonne over the past two weeks amid easing geopolitical tensions and lower oil prices. The decline is expected to create room for gradual price reductions in Georgia.

He noted that diesel prices are likely to see the largest cuts, as diesel rose much more sharply than gasoline earlier this year. Since March, diesel prices increased by around GEL 1.20 per liter, compared with about GEL 0.60 for gasoline.

“Current Platts levels allow us to move toward gradual price reductions,” Khorava said, adding that cheaper imports will be reflected in retail prices as new shipments arrive. He expects the first reductions to be introduced for diesel, with further adjustments depending on trends in international markets over the next 15–20 days.
