Women’s Winter Footwear Prices Rise 29.7% in August

The price of women’s winter footwear in Georgia rose by 29.7% in August, ranking eighth among the products with the largest price increases, according to Geostat. BM.GE looked at Georgia’s footwear import trends and the country’s main suppliers.

Footwear imports have more than doubled over the past five years. In January-July 2026, Georgia imported $77.05 million worth of footwear, up by 117% from $35.47 million in the same period of 2021, an increase of $41.57 million.

Imports grew by 43% in 2022, 21% in 2023 and 15% in 2024. Growth slowed to 2.2% in 2025 but accelerated again to 6.8% year-on-year in January-July 2026.

China remained the largest supplier, with $19.2 million worth of footwear imported in the first seven months of 2026, totaling 3,124 tons. Turkey ranked second with around $6 million and 592 tons, while Italy was third with $5.7 million, despite supplying only 66 tons.
