Wondernet Express Investment Group plans to begin construction of a multimodal terminal in the port of Aktau, Kazakhstan, by the end of 2026, according to the company’s General Director, Mamuka Murjikneli, who spoke to Business Course.

Murjikneli explained that the project is closely linked to the development of a new fertilizer plant in Kazakhstan and represents a major investment for the company. “We have signed a memorandum with our Kazakh partners to build a multimodal terminal in the port of Aktau. Work on this is ongoing. We are not talking about one or two million,it is a large-scale investment. Once the factory is ready, we will begin product deliveries. I believe construction will start by 2026, though much work remains before then,” he noted.

In addition to expanding terminal capacities, Wondernet Express is also coordinating with Georgian Railway on issues related to the wagon fleet, which plays a crucial role in ensuring uninterrupted cargo transportation. “We are working intensively with Georgian Railways to decide whether to invest in expanding the wagon fleet ourselves or rely on the company’s upcoming investments in this area,” Murjikneli said.

The new terminal in Aktau will be built in partnership with Aktau Sea Port and KazAzot, with the goal of accumulating cargo in the Kazakh port and ensuring efficient onward transportation.
