Mamuka Murjikneli, General Director of Wondernet Express Investment Group, says that active work is underway with Kazakh partners on the construction of a mineral fertilizer terminal at the Port of Aktau.
According to him, the parameters are still being specified and the annual turnover is expected to be 1 million tons.
"We signed a memorandum with the Aktau Sea Port and KazAzot and agreed to build a fertilizer terminal. Today, intensive work is ongoing, the project is being developed, and calculations are being made regarding what capacity the terminal should have. Together with our partners in Kazakhstan, we saw the potential that it is necessary to build a modern terminal in Kazakhstan's port as well, so that cargo can accumulate there and then be properly transported via the Caspian Sea and enter our corridor. The Middle Corridor is not just a joint project of Georgia and Azerbaijan, it is very important that our friends from Central Asia are also involved in this direction. It is quite a powerful region where capacities are growing, and it's important that we serve the portion that our ports and railway can handle. I am hopeful that this will grow in the future, we look forward to the construction of the port in Anaklia and the development of other ports. We do not plan to stop here, and the main goal is to similarly build new terminals in our country," says Mamuka Murjikneli.
