"Workforce shortage will become more acute in 2023" - Medea Tabatadze, the managing partner of the consulting and recruiting company "Insource", stated while visiting TV-Program Business Course.

According to her, global competition is the main cause of the problem, as the Georgian employment market should compete with it. This requires thinking and making the necessary decisions on the part of the business.

"Global markets for performing physical or mental work are already available for Georgia. Many people go to Europe or America, as they get paid in a different currency and earn more than in their homeland. In addition, a person can physically still be in Georgia, but remotely serve the same European or American markets. Of course, this fact is something that already requires good thinking and finding different solutions from the business side. Just talking about the shortage is probably already too late, there are too many urgent decisions to be accepted", Medea Tabatadze states.

According to the managing partner of "Insource", in order to solve the problem, it is important for the business to increase its investment in employees and also to identify the directions where it is possible to reduce the investment.

According to the BAG index survey for 4Q2022, 66% of the member companies of the Georgian Business Association report that they face problems in finding staff, and this indicator has increased by 14.6 percentage points compared to the last year.
