Such increase of coronavirus cases was unexpected for both healthcare system and the government, - Andria Urushadze, an international health expert, told TV-program Business Course.
According to him, management of coronavirus cases has its own logic, regardless the number of the cases.
However, he noted that at the very first stage of the pandemic, wrong expectations had arisen in Georgia, that any patient should be treated at the hospital.
"Doctors were mainly engaged in treatment of patients with minor symptoms. So, it has raised wrong expectations and people try to treat their relatives and family members at the hospital. It should be clearly defined for whom hospitalization is appropriate, who should switch to artificial respiration. It is very important to use this resource efficiently," he said.
