The Parliament of Georgia released a statement on additional security measures.
According to the Parliament, the yellow level of security will be in effect in the Parliament Palace of Georgia on April 16.
In addition, accredited journalists of TV channels will be allowed in the building, while representatives of other media outlets will not be able to enter the building.
“In accordance with the order of the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia of September 4 "On the approval of the rules for security protection in the Georgian Parliament Palace", on April 16 of this year, the yellow level of security will be in effect in the Georgian Parliament Palace - visitors are restricted from entering the Parliament Palace. Only persons invited by the relevant structural units will be admitted to the meetings.
The restriction does not apply to accredited journalists of TV channels. The aim of the mentioned measure is to provide a safe and working environment in the Georgian Parliament Palace," reads the statement.
A similar security regime was in effect on April 15 as well, in connection with the discussion of the "foreign transparency bill" at the Legal Issues Committee. The Committee hearings, a bureau session and a plenary session are scheduled for April 16 in the Parliament.
