Young people are leaving Georgia due to the current conditions in the country, - Mariam Jorjadze, the director of "Elkana", spoke about this with BMGTV. According to her, there are no young people left in the village who will be engaged in farming.
"Why did we have problems during the snow period? Because there were no young people who could physically cope with all this and help people there. Young people left the villages en masse. This is a problem in many places," - said Jorjadze.
She also recalls the so-called "milk scandal", noting that dairy farms are built with cheap credits, which represent taxpayers' money.
“None of the state tenders financed with our money obliges the company to take into account environmental issues.
as for the large farms, which we consider as the salvation of the country, can no longer exist due to the labor force decrease in the agriculture sector, bcuase they go abroad, where there are better conditions, there is a tendency for large farms to be closed and family farms to be developed,” said the director of “Elkana”.
