Sandro Urushadze, the former Minister of Health declares, that the removal of Zurab Azarashvili from the position of Minister is a political decision. He announced this while visiting BMGTV.
He deeply believes that the ruling power needs a popular person for elections, and it seems that Zurab Azarashvili was not considered as such.
"In my opinion, during the election period, they want a person who will be more popular among doctors. Probably, Mr. Zura could not be the minister who enjoyed the respect of medical personnel or specialists working in this field. I think this is a political decision," he said.
As for the new concept of the Republican hospital, the former minister talks about the challenges and notes, that there should be a clear vision before decisions.
"I know that the government's decree on the demolition of the hospital is canceled, but I do not know of a new decree that will determine the future of the hospital. The needs of the sector will be taken into account and a decision will be made with the involvement of medical staff, doctors, and nurse manager", - said Sandro Urushadze.
