Satsurbelia Cave will be opened in Imereti Region. This will be the first speleo treatment site of international standards in the Caucasus region, where people suffering from respiratory disorders will be able to receive treatment procedures. As BM.ge was told at the Agency of Protected Areas of Georgia, natural medicinal properties of the cave have been studied by Czech and Georgian specialists. A visitor center and out-patient facility were built on site and lighting system was installed in the cave. Satsurbelia Cave was divided into two – active and passive – zones. A playground for children was arranged in the active zone and lounge area was organized in the passive zone.
The Cave will receive visitors in the new tourist tourist season. Satsurbelia Cave is located in Tskaltubo Municipality Kunistavi Village, 2km from Prometheus Cave. The project received 647 000 GEL from the state budget of Georgia.
