Check In Georgia 2018

Check In Georgia 2018 project presentation was held at the multifunctional center Republic. The First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitry Kumsishvili, the Head of National Tourism Administration Giorgi Chogovadze, the Director of the JSC Black Sea Arena, Ani Kavlelishvili and the Ambassador of Italy to Georgia, H.E. Antonio Enrico Bartol, as well as the project participant agencies, representatives of the private companies and the invited guest participated in the event.

Check in Georgia project will be held for the third time this year with the support of the state. The Check in Georgia 2018 will provide ground for significant musical and other entertainment activities throughout Georgia. The budget of the project this year amounts to 20 million USD, which mostly will be spent on the events with the participation of Georgian artist. It is noteworthy that Georgian artists, including the starlet performers, will participate in the project with minimal expenditure, which is an important stimulus and opportunity for them.

Check in Georgia 2018 will offer the audiences an interesting and diverse program that include concerts of such groups in several regions of Georgia as ‘Sukhishvilebi’, ‘Erisioni’ and ‘Rustavi’ and the Tbilisi State Chamber Orchestra. Within the framework of the project there will be held the following events: Tbilisi Ballet Festival, 4GB Electronic Music Festival in Saguramo, Anaklia Electronic Music Festival, Open Air Music Festival, Artarea Yard Festival, etc. In cooperation with the Italian Embassy, in 2018 it is also planned three important exhibitions and namely: ‘Renaissance Graphic’ – an exhibition of up to 50 graphic designs of the Royal Museum of Turin; ‘Titian – Master of Colors’ and ‘Bernini and Roman Baroque’ – an exhibition of the most important works of the seventeenth century. At the same time, within the framework of Check In Georgia 2018, Georgia will host concerts by international stars (information about their concerts will be released in the nearest future).

Check In Georgia is a significant project, which is proved by the previous experience. It offers the loaded tourism program to millions of tourists and make their journey in our country even more impressive. The project is also important in terms of positioning Georgia as a safe and exciting tourist destination and contributes to increasing Georgia’s recognition as an interesting tourist destination, which keeps pace with the demands of the modern tourist market. Alongside the traditional tourist attractions, tourists in Georgia have the opportunity enjoy the cultural and entertainment events including interesting artists, festivals, attractions, etc.


Special attention needs to be paid to the socio-economic consequences of the event since the infrastructure is developing in the regions; new jobs are emerging for the local population through developing business sector, including the small-size businesses. Check In Georgia is also an important project in terms of activating cultural life in the regions.
