In 2017, wrought and unwrought gold worth of 71 mln USD was exported from Georgia.
According to information provided to BM.ge by GeoStat, last year 3 tons of gold of this category was exported from the country.
As to the export area, since 2013, markets have almost not changed – gold is exported from Georgia mainly to Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Canada, however, the leader is Switzerland, where last year gold worth of 64 mln USD was exported.
Based on the statistics of last five years, in 2013 4.3 unwrought and semi-wrought gold worth of 73 mln USD was exported, in 2014 – 39 mln USD (2.3 tons), in 2015 – 62 mln USD (3.1 tons) and in 2016 – 81 mln USD (3.6 tons).
As to the rates of Q1 2018, according to GeoStat, in January-March, gold worth of 20 mln USD (0.8 tons) was exported, of which unwrought and semi-wrought gold worth of 17 mln was exported to Switzerland.
