To support the program for economic reforms, the International Monetary Fund, on June 27, 2018, approved the 2nd review of Georgia's three-year program supported through the Extended Fund Facility, resulting in the allocation of 42.25 million USD to Georgia. Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze commented on this issue before today's Government meeting.

"I would like to urge all stakeholders to familiarize themselves with this report because it clearly reflects the challenges facing our economy today. At the same time, it clearly shows that the reforms implemented by us perfectly target the challenges facing our economy today," the Head of Government said.

The Prime Minister expects that the next report will be just as promising, supportive of the Georgian Government's structural reforms seeking to accelerate economic growth, which will encourage sustainable and inclusive medium-term growth, with priority naturally given to growth in the private sector.

"The IMF also states that the economic growth is higher than expected, and fiscal and international parameters have improved, and significant progress has been achieved ion the implementation of structural reforms. At the same time, the IMF unequivocally welcomes the structural reforms announced by us in support of economic growth," the Prime Minister emphasized.
