IMF advance Georgia’s economic growth forecast

In 2018, International Monetary Fund is expecting 4,5% economic growth in Georgia, which is 0.3% higher than previous forecast. According to the forecasts of the Fund, in 2019, economic growth in Georgia will be speeded up to 4.8%. Besides, as the Fund forecasts, in 2018, inflation rate in Georgia will make 3.6% and in 2019 this rate will decrease to 3%. Among the countries of the region, Georgia’s forecast is one of the highest after Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

Forecasts for the countries of the region are following:

Russia – 1.7%
Kazakhstan – 3 .2%
Uzbekistan – 5%
Azerbaijan – 2%
Turkmenistan – 6.2%
Ukraine – 3.2%
Belarus – 2.8%
Georgia – 4.5%
Armenia – 3.4%
Tajikistan – 4 %
Kirgizstan – 3.3%
Moldova – 3%
