Armenia’s foreign trade soars by almost 18 percent in 2021

Armenia’s foreign trade in 2021 surged by 17.7% from the previous year to $8,379.2 billion, the National Statistics Committee (NSC) said.

In said in December 2021, compared to December 2020, the country’s foreign trade increased by 23%, and compared to November 2021 by 3.7%. In Armenian drams, the 2021 foreign trade amounted to 4,197.9 trillion, ARKA reports. 

Exports from Armenia in January-December 2021 grew by 19.1% to $3.022.4 billion compared to January-December 2020. In December 2021, compared to December 2020, the growth was 14.3% and 0.9% when compared to November 2021. In AMD terms, exports in January-November 2021 totaled 1,517.5 billion.

Imports during the reporting period amounted to $5,356.8 billion, recording a 16.9% increase compared to January-December 2020. They rose 27.7% in December 2021 compared to December 2020 and 5.1% compared to November 2021.

In dram equivalent, imports in January-November 2021 were worth 2,680.4 trillion.
