We can say that the average daily number of vaccinated people is 14,000, which is almost 2 times less than our target rate, - said First Deputy Minister of Health Tamar Gabunia. As She explained, 25,000-30,000 people should be vaccinated a day.

"Yesterday the number of vaccinations exceeded 14,000, so we can say that the average number of vaccinated people per day is 14,000. Our target is almost 2 times higher than this figure. Thus, it is planned to open additional vaccination centers by the end of the week, in order to increase the number of vaccinated people. The existing number of vaccines allows us to vaccinate more people and vaccination centers will be added in Tbilisi as well as in the regions," Gabunia said.

She also explained that during the summer, access to all vaccines will be unlimited in the country and Pfizer vaccination centers will be added in other regions as well.

“Out of half a million doses of Pfizer available in the country, about 170,000 doses have already been booked, registration for the rest will be opened soon and the purchased 1 million doses will also arrive gradually in the country.

During the summer we will have unlimited access to all the vaccines available today, including Sinopharm, Sinovac, Pfizer and Astrazeneca [mostly second doses]. Work is now underway to equalize geographical access and Pfizer dispensing cabinets will be added to other regional points so that the population can be vaccinated with Pfizer in all hospitals," Gabunia said.
