How have annual prices changed? - Geostat

The annual inflation rate amounted to 3.8% in November - Geostat released new statistics today.

According to Geostat, the annual inflation rate was mainly influenced by price changes for the following groups:

Food and non-alcoholic beverages: the prices in the group increased by 6%, contributing 1.92 percentage points to the overall annual inflation rate. Within the group the prices increased for the following subgroups: oils and fats (23.2%), coffee, tea and cocoa (12.2%), fish (9.1%), milk, cheese and eggs (8%), bread and cereals (7.1%), sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery (7%), mineral waters, soft drinks, fruit and vegetable juices (4.7%), meat (3.7%). Along with this, the prices decreased for fruit and grapes (-5.3%);

Health: the prices went up by 8.8%, contributing 0.71 percentage points to the overall annual inflation rate. The prices increased for medical products, appliances and equipment (12.4%) and out-patient services (12%);

Furnishings, household equipment and maintenance: the prices in the group increased by 10.2%, contributing 0.6 percentage points to the annual inflation. The prices were higher for the following subgroups: glassware, tableware and household utensils (12.7%), goods and services for routine household maintenance (10.4%), household appliances (10.1%), household textiles (7.4%), furniture and furnishings, carpets and other floor coverings (6.2%);

Transport: the prices decreased by 5.2%, contributing -0.64 percentage points to the overall annual inflation rate. Within the group the prices decreased for operation of personal transport equipment (-6.7%).

“With regard to the annual core inflation, the prices increased by 5.1%, while the annual core inflation without tobacco amounted to 4.8%” – Geostat reported.
