In 2022, 50.4 thousand tonnes of products were purchased for further realization by cold storage facilities. The income from service amounted to GEL 23.6 million, - according to the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In 2022, 333 cold storage facilities were active in Georgia, most of them were located in Shida Kartli region (61.9%). Active cold storage facilities are also located in Kakheti region (13.2%), Tbilisi (8.7 %), Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region (4.5%), Adjara AR (3.3%), Kvemo Kartli region (3.3%), Imereti region (3.0 percent), Mtskheta-Mtianeti region (0.9%), Guria region (0.6%), and Samtskhe-Javakheti (0.6%).
In 2022, 283.1 thousand tons of products were stored in cold storage facilities, 44.45 of which was chicken meat (including frozen meat), 20% – meat and meat products (including semi-finished products) 14.3% - fruit and vegetable, 13% – fish, 4.3% - milk products, while remaining products, 4%, had a small share.

In 2022, products (84.7 thousand tones) of GEL 461.0 million were sold by cold storage facilities, relatively big share (44%) of which was local (purchased) products. Herewith, 56.6% of local (own) products sold by cold storage facilities was chicken meat.
Significant share of imported products was chicken meat (including frozen) (49.6%),meat and meat products (including semi-finished products) (24.6%), and fish (13.2%).
According to the results of the survey, the average daily load of cameras (percentage of total leads) was 53.7%in January, 51% in February, 44.5% in March and 42.1% in April, In May – 54.8%, in Juny – 53.9%, in July – 51.5%, in August – 55.7%, 52% in September, 56.8% in October, 58.3% in November and 53.2% in December.
