Georgia’s construction cost index increased by 0.8% month-on-month and 4.3% year-on-year in July 2026, according to Geostat. The annual increase was mainly driven by higher transportation, fuel and electricity costs, as well as rising wages in the construction sector.
Transportation, fuel and electricity costs increased by 15.2% year-on-year, contributing 1.81 percentage points to the overall index increase. The average monthly nominal wage of construction employees rose 3.6%, adding another 1.43 percentage points.
Month-on-month, the index rose mainly due to a 6.4% increase in average monthly nominal wages, which contributed 1.12 percentage points to the overall change. By segment, residential construction costs fell 3% from June but rose 0.5% year-on-year, while non-residential and civil construction costs increased both monthly and annually.
Compared with February 2022, the construction cost index was 30.3% higher in July 2026. The latest figures indicate that labor and energy-related costs remain key factors influencing construction prices in Georgia.
