A tourism report for May 2021 has been published. According to the document, last month, a record number of 104,700 visitors visited Georgia since the beginning of the pandemic. This flow of visitors is 180% higher than the previous year.
According to statistics, more than half of the visitors - 52,688 visitors - entered the country by air last month, which is related to the activated air traffic.
Despite the relative recovery of tourism, its volume is 85% less than in the pre-pandemic period (May 2019).

- Kazakhstan - 4,664 visitors, an increase over the previous year 1147.1%

According to the National Bank of Georgia, in April, when 83,000 visitors visited Georgia, the country's revenue from international tourism amounted to $ 50 million. It is expected that in May this figure would be 10-15% higher.
