Foreign direct investments (FDI) in Georgia amounted to USD 299.0 million in Q3 2021 (preliminary data), up 1.4% from the adjusted data of 3Q2020. Increase in reinvestment is considered to be the main reason for the growth of FDI, - show the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (NBG).
According to the report, the United Kingdom reaching USD 60.9 million in Q3 2021 (20.4%) was the major foreign direct investor country, Netherlands was the second with USD 59.8 million (20.0%) followed by Czech Republic with USD 36.0 (12.0%).
The largest share of FDI was registered in the financial sector, reaching USD 87.1 million (29.1 %) in Q3 2021, the energy sector was the second with USD 69.3 million (23.2%), followed by the manufacturing sector with USD 54.8 million (18.3%).
