Ministry of Finance will submit a specific plan for online gambling by the next Monday, then we will appeal to the parliament to initiate the draft bill, - Georgian Prime Minister declares.

Several days ago, the Prime Minister announced that the government was primarily thinking of increasing taxes for online gambling, banning advertising and raising the threshold to 25 years.

"Misinformation was spread yesterday, as if the budget would lose 1.5 billion. The point is that the budget gets 300 million in revenue from online casinos, so that should increase. The first step will be that we will increase the fees for online casinos. You have to raise the threshold to 25 years. Children aged 14-16 are involved in this horror. We are damaging generations and therefore, if we do not act together with their parents, we will lose them. There are sidestep mechanisms and we will put in additional safeguards and tighten registration. Advertising should be banned in all its forms, as it is very disturbing and damaging to our young generation. This does not apply to sports bets. How is it in Europe, so we have to do it is robbing our population. Hundreds of millions of dollars are flowing out of the country. If the government has not responded to this, it is a crime”, - said Irakli Garibashvili
