Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili published a Twitter post related to the 8th anniversary since the signing of Georgia’s Association Agreement with the European Union. According to him, EU’s financial aid for eight years exceeded 1 billion EUR.

“8 years ago, Georgia and the EU signed the Association Agreement, marking our country’s EU integration irreversible and much contributing Georgia’s success on this path. Though our devoted work and commitment to the European values and principles, we have been granted EU perspective. The best is yet to come!

Association Agreement opened new opportunities for Georgia:

• Access to the EU Market;
• Visa-free travel;
• EU-our major trade partner;
• Bringing almost 70% of the EU acquis closer to Georgian legislation
• EU’s financial aid for 8 years – 1 billion EUR”, - Darchiashvili tweeted over the date.
