Levan Akhvlediani, Executive Director of Anakli Development Consortium, noted with TV- company Palitra News that probability of Anaklia Project implementation is 50% -50%.
“I would say that today probability of Anaklia Project implementation is 50% -50%. To make clear, the matter concerns to the given conditions. As for me, I am absolutely sure that this project will be implemented”, - Levan Akhvlediani declares.
According to Maia Tskitishvili, if the consortium fails to fulfill its interim obligations by December 19, 2019, the Georgian government has the right to cancel the investment agreement signed between the parties in 2016.
On its turn, Anaklia Development Consortium focused attention, that the state had been making destructive steps in the implementation of the project and that made it difficult to find potential investors. Moreover, the state did not express sufficient support to them, who were planning to take part in Anaklia project. Among them is International Investment Company Meridian and one of America's largest investment funds.
“I think they didn't see enough support from the government. If the Minister of Infrastructure or the Minister of Economy make phone calls, they will still show interest towards this project. However, the form and size, is a matter of debate. We can sit down and discuss their interests too. The government should take such a step with every investor,” said Levan Akhvlediani.
Akhvlediani notes, that according to their calculations, the Port will contribute 1.1%-share in the GDP growth.
