"The plan to construct a new plant has been delayed indefinitely due to the pandemic," Nino Mchedlidze, director of BMG Chirikela, told BMG.

"Chirikela" is presented on the Georgian market with about 20 types of dried fruits, chips and tea. The company has recently begun to produce chips. According to Nino Mchedlidze, they have family production at the moment and COVID has adjusted their plans for the construction of a new enterprise.

According to the director of Chirikela, the situation created by the pandemic had a negative impact on demand.

"It had become difficult to access the raw materials during the operation in the state of emergency, which affected the price of raw materials and consequently, the cost of products. At this stage, the price of Chirikela products starts from 2 GEL and the cost of special packaging reaches up to 20 GEL," - said Mchedlidze.

To note: Chirikela has been on the market for 3 years. The products are produced in Tetritskaro and sold in local shops, and with the help of the Facebook page (Chirikela - Chirikela), the products can be purchased online.
