Zviad Shalamberidze was appointed the new Governor of Georgia’s most populous, Imereti region. Maia Tskitishvili, Minister of regional development and infrastructure, presented Shalamberidze to local self-government officials today.
Shalamberidze will replace Shavlego Tabatadze, who served from 2018.
Zviad Shalamberidze, 41, was the First Deputy Governor from March 2019. He served as Acting Governor after Shavlego Tabatadze resigned in May.
In 2015-2019, Shalamberidze was the regional manager of Ltd Frego in western Georgia. At different times he worked at International Insurance Company Irao, GPI Holding and consulted UN Development Programme.
