According to Davit Mikeltadze, executive director of Hospital “Open Heart”, the clinic has ceased to carry out scheduled operations because of the enactment of Resolution 520.

As he declared to bm.ge, after enactment of Resolution 520 on November 20, the hospital merely makes emergency operations.

“I have such a situation up to now, we only carry out emergency operations. This decision is related to the fact that the tariff is much more than the operation from beginning to the end. Thus, we cannot do operations”, Mikeladze said.

As for the deputy health minister's statement that there is no news what kind of services clinics have stopped, Mikeladze is surprised, as 26 clinics have been talking about this problem during the meeting with the Prime Minister.

“As you know, a few days ago we had a meeting with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health. We considered those issues there. 26 clinics said that they were not able to make the scheduled operations, while the deputy minister notes, she has no information about the matter. I raised this issue at the meeting with the Prime Minister and we were told that they would give an answer in two or three days. A working group has been set up, the group has been formed, a letter has been published and it has already been submitted to the ministry. We asked them to call us at any time, but you call me and they do not,” Mikeladze said.

Mikeladze declares related to the announcement made by the deputy health minister that a council would be set up to work on the issue, that "it is important to call the clinics for conversation”.
