The increase in the number of passengers and flights at the airports was caused by the correct policy implemented in the target markets, - according to the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.

As she notes, the policy implemented on target markets is aimed at expanding the geography of flights, finding new tourist markets, introducing new airlines to the Georgian air market and increasing existing destinations.

"In June 2022, Kutaisi International Airport served 76,052 passengers and 298 flights. According to this data, the passenger flow has been fully recovered at the airport from the pre-pandemic level, while the number of flights has increased by 21%," Kvrivishvili said.
