161 new cases of the virus were detected in the last 24 hours, - according to stopcov.ge. As part of the intensive testing, 18,178 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, including 16,709 antigen tests and 1,469 PCR tests.

The total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country amounts to 1,654,076.

As of April 21, the daily positive rate is 0.89%, for the last 14 days - 1.23% and for 7 days - 1.12%.

In the last 24 hours, 301 people recovered from the virus, bringing the total to 1,635,291.

1 coronavirus death was reported in the last 24 hours. A total of 16,795 people have died from the virus since the pandemic spread.

Out of 161 new cases of infection detected in the country today: 86 cases were reported in Tbilisi, Adjara - 9, Imereti - 20, Kvemo Kartli - 9, Shida Kartli - 7, Guria - 8, Samegrelo - Zemo Svaneti - 4, Kakheti - 13, Mtskheta-Mtianeti-1, Samtskhe-Javakheti - 3, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 1.

The number of active cases amounts to 1,964.
