Company Chocolab, which appeared on the market in 2018, started producing chocolate in the shape of the Georgian map. As the founder of the company Mariam Edilashvili-Tkemaladze told BM.GE, the goal of the new product is to promote Georgia.

"The idea of creating chocolate in the shape of a Georgian map came up a long time ago, and it's been two weeks since we put it on sale. The main goal of the new product is to promote our country. We think that it will remind the tourists of the sweet time spent in Georgia.

I cannot yet confidently say how much the demand will be. There has already been a lot of criticism, which we expected. For some, it is unacceptable to make the map of Georgia into food, although they do not see that it serves to raise the awareness of Georgia", Mariam Edilashvili-Tkemaladze notes.

In addition to map-shaped chocolate, "Chocolab" produces a variety of products.

"We use the highest quality raw materials to make different types of sweets, including Belgian, Italian chocolate, Georgian nuts and dried fruits. We produce chocolate tiles, truffles, bonbons and lollipops.

The sales are mainly done through online platforms, however, we also bring chocolate to some tourist shops and we plan to increase the shopping area. The price of sweets starts from GEL 3 and increases depending on the contents, weight and packaging", says Mariam Edilashvili-Tkemaladze.

"Chocolab" was established five years ago with the investment of the founder, but due to the covid pandemic, the production was stopped for two years. At this stage, the company employs four people, however, additional personnel are often mobilized if necessary.
