This March, Communal Company launched an exciting new all-day-dining Restaurant - Lively, Spanish eatery influenced by Basque culinary heritage.

Concept is inspired by an ancient legend telling how Basque and Georgian people are related by mythical Iberian ancestry, language roots and various iconic cultural nuances.

At MADRE locals and visitors are invited to immerse in a joyful neo-bodega where authenticity and fiction form a perfect blend.



Set in the 19th century noble townhouse overlooking charming Besiki Park at the heart of ever authentic Mtatsminda neighbourhood, MADRE is a versatile space split across various areas offering a Spanish revival inspired Bar, Dining Room featuring exposed open kitchen, intimate Lounge with fireplace and the Game Room for private group dining.

Menu at MADRE is vast, dominated by authentic Basque plates presented with modern day twists on regional Spanish highlights. Raw materials are sourced with a focus on local and regional bounty from farm, field, and black sea coast.

MADRE’s specialties will feature a classic suckling pig Chochinillo straight from the Moorish oven, Txuleta Steak from wood fire grill, variety of Pintxos and gourmet tortillas along with famous Basque burnt cheesecake!

Bespoke wines have been created especially for MADRE in Spain’s elite wine region Rioja Alavesa. MADRE’s wine from Rioja will be called Txangurro, name is inspired by basque national delicacy. Wine list will focus on Georgian native Orange wine culture along with Rioja specialties.

Interiors are sophisticated yet playful, somewhat old-world familiar with period inspired glam.

Guests will be greeted in a bar room featuring snug booth benches and exposed brick arch windows serving extensive collection of agave-based spirits and cocktails influenced by the flavours of Latin America.

Bartenders will showcase forward-thinking, avant-garde cocktails, served alongside modern riffs on classics with a whimsical twist.

Dining Room features vaulted bodega style arches perfectly set over the wooded wall panels. Guests are invited to dine at a large communal table, cabaret style round dining tables or the kitchen counter overseeing roaring open kitchen, surrounded by ice chilled seafood display, vertical wine cellar and transparent dry ageing meat cabinet warmly lit by Himalayan salt block lights.

In the evening, the restaurant transforms to a more intimate setting, revealing its moody and sensual character.

Fireplace Lounge is an intimate dining space where torch red pillars invade the room. Lounge is flooded with warm lights from a glass skylight and walls are showcasing Spanish matador inspired artwork.

Evenings are filled with warmth of open wood fireplace and richness of textiles providing energy and liveliness.

For those who seek more intimate and discreet experience Game Room offers an adult's playground where food and drinks are accompanied by cheeky games. Screen for sports, personal spirit and a cigar bar are to be expected. Independent entrance from the back yard, personal bathroom and moody-snug ambiance calls for swanky vibes.

Today Communal Company operates Urban Boutique Hotels in Tbilisi’s historical places such as Sololaki and Plekhanovi and a Resort hotel in Telavi. New Hotel in Kutaisi will open its doors soon.

Along the hospitality ventures, Communal Company owns Restaurants & Bars; Weller - inspired by the Middle Eastern cuisine, natural wine bar & restaurant Craft in Tbilisi and Doli Kakhetian restaurant in Telavi.
