Up to 19 million bottles (0.75 l) of wine worth $ 44 million were exported from Georgia to 52 countries in the first quarter of 2021, - National Wine Agency of Georgia reports.
According to the National Wine Agency, 205 companies made wine exports in Q1.
“The volume of Georgian wine exports in the first quarter of 2021 increased by 2% year-on-year. However, the export value dropped by 5% due to lower wine prices in international markets”, - National Wine Agency reports.
According to the National Wine Agency, the growth trend of Georgian wine exports stands despite the pandemic.
Exports increased to strategic wine markets: China – 29% (959,040 bottles), Lithuania – 38% (245,940 bottles), USA – 3% (237,878 bottles), Estonia – 22% (161956 bottles), Japan – 11% (51346 bottles) and the UK – 2% (117118 bottles).
In addition, Georgia exported 7.4 million bottles (0.5 l) of brandy and 111 thousand bottles (0.5 l) of Chacha in the reported period.
In total, Georgia exported wine, brandy and Chacha products worth 73 million USD, which is a 4% rise y-o-y.
