Artisan bakery "Gunda" plans to develop its business outside Georgia. Gunda plans to open its first branch in New York late in 2023. The authors of the idea aim to popularize khachapuri in the international market, because this was the main goal when starting the business.

One of the founders of "Gunda" Levan Kokiashvili spoke about the plans for the development of Khachapuri (a traditional Georgian dish of cheese-filled bread) chain and noted that the project will be implemented in cooperation with a Georgian partner living in America.

"We are planning to open "Gunda" branch in New York by the end of the year. This project will be franchised, however, management will be fully involved in its management. Within three years, we are planning to open branches in different countries. We are currently looking for a place to open a facility in Manhattan or a similar area. We saw several locations. "Gunda" has two partners, Nana Dolidze and Inga Kvernadze. Inga has been living in the USA for many years and we are working with them on the opening of the facility," said Levan Kokiashvili.

According to him, the management of "Gunda" has searched the New York market for this purpose.

"We have started work on attracting the necessary investments for the opening of artisan bakery in 4 countries. These countries are: Japan, Israel, the Baltic countries and the USA. In the case of America, we have already decided that "Gunda" should open in New York" in 1 year", - Kokiashvili said.
