We Will Help Exporting Companies From 2022 – Turnava

“Our goal is to further develop Georgian exports and gradually reduce the dependence in a number of sectors. Various state programs have an effective role in solving this problem”, - said the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava at the plenary sitting of the autumn session of the Parliament of Georgia, where she was heard in the format of "Minister Hour".

According to the Minister of Economy, the program "Business Export" and "Business Universal" were launched from September 1.

Subsidiaries of the Business Export program, will receive a grant of 15% of the approved loan. Also, small businesses have the opportunity to benefit from a loan interest subsidy and a loan-guarantee scheme at the same time. Along with export and import substitution, agro-tourism and ecotourism business projects will receive similar support.

According to her, the micro-grant program was implemented in 2021 and 689 micro-projects were funded with GEL 14.3 million. 2500 people were directly employed within the projects.

In 2021, 327 projects were funded under the Business Support Loan Subsidy component, which provides attraction of private investment of GEL 520 million in total and creating up to 5,200 jobs. The credit-guarantee scheme of the Enterprise Georgia program was used by 184 beneficiaries and as a result about 2,520 jobs were created.
