China will extend tariff waivers on some US commodities until the end of 2023, the finance ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
Some certain goods imports from the US and Canada will continue to be exempted from tariffs between June 1 and Dec. 31, 2023, read the statement.
According to latest data from the General Administration of Customs, trade volume between the US and China amounted to $217.9 billion in the first four months of 2023, plunging 11.2% from last year.
Mainland China's imports from the US totaled at $59.6 billion in January-April, down from $60.8 billion in the same period last year.
