Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili started today his visit to China. The Chinese Minister of Education, the Governor of Sichuan Province and ambassadors of the two countries welcomed the Georgian delegation at the Chengdu International Airport, the Georgian Government Administration said.
Archil Kalandia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the People's Republic of China, says that this visit is very important, since, first of all, it will contribute to the deepening of trade and economic relations between the two countries. In Ambassador's words, the meetings will be held both in Chengdu and Beijing.
“Both bilateral and multilateral relations between Georgia and the People's Republic of China are developing dynamically. The Georgian Prime Minister's visit to China began today. The first part of the visit will take place in the city of Chengdu, where the opening ceremony of the Youth and Student Olympic Games will take place. A number of events are also planned.
This visit will primarily contribute to the intensification of trade and economic relations between the two countries. Georgia is a member of the Belt and Road global initiative, business contacts, humanitarian ties, as well as cultural and tourist relations are expanding, so this visit will give a new impetus to deepen bilateral and multilateral relations.
The next round of meetings will be held in city of Beijing, where very important events and meetings are also planned, so this will be a fairly eventful and meaningful visit," the ambassador said.
