According to Georgian Flour Producers Association, 30,000 t of wheat will be imported from the US late this year.
According to Association, on December 18, 2020, the vessel Ocean Grand arrived in the Poti Port and brought 14,000 t of high-quality American wheat to Georgia.
The second ship loaded with American wheat is planned to enter Georgia on December 25.
"We want to note that the import of 30,000 tons of American wheat is very timely and important for our country, especially when there is a very difficult situation on the regional market and accordingly, the availability of wheat will be limited by a number of countries.
We would like to thank all parties involved in this transaction, the governments of the United States and Georgia, as well as the Embassy of the United States of America in Georgia,” Georgian Flour Producers Association said.
