As of the latest update from Georgia’s Revenue Service, 30,451 individuals are registered in the national database of persons with gambling addiction.

According to the data:

  • 59 individuals were registered based on a court order;
  • 30,392 people entered the list voluntarily through self-application.

This marks a notable increase compared to early May, when 26,655 people were on the list, indicating a growth of nearly 4,000 individuals over the past three months.

The Revenue Service notes that the self-restriction procedure has been further simplified to encourage more individuals to take control of their gambling habits. Citizens can now add themselves to the registry without prior authorization, using biometric identification to ensure privacy and data security.

“The system offers a confidential and secure way for individuals to protect themselves from gambling addiction,” the Revenue Service stated.

Under Georgian legislation, individuals listed in the database, defined as those with an irresistible desire to engage in gambling and/or games of chance, are prohibited from participating in gambling activities. This ban applies to both physical gaming establishments and online platforms, excluding incentive-based prize drawings.

Duration and Removal Conditions

  • Inclusion on the list is valid for five years.
  • Early removal is only possible in two cases:
  • Loss of Georgian citizenship

By court decision, and no earlier than three years after the person was added to the list.
