The 2025 grape harvest season in Kakheti has officially begun, starting in the Dedoplistskaro municipality. According to the National Wine Agency, by September 2, wineries in the region had processed approximately 3,500 tons of grapes.
The harvest in other Kakheti municipalities will begin gradually, as grapes reach the appropriate level of ripeness. Around 200 wine companies are registered with the Grape Harvest Coordination Headquarters and will participate in grape reception and processing this year.
For farmers and producers, information on the harvest is available through the hotline of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture (1501) and the Grape Harvest Coordination Headquarters (0322 193 283).
As part of government policy, the state enterprise Crop Management Company will purchase surplus grapes at differentiated prices: GEL 1.50 per kilogram for Saperavi grapes grown in Kakheti, GEL 1.20 for other wine varieties permitted by the Law of Georgia On Vine and Wine, and GEL 1.00 for substandard or damaged grapes.
Unlike in previous years, subsidies will no longer be issued to private wine companies.
