The GD government has increased the subsidy for the state-owned Crop Management Company, which operates under the Ministry of Agriculture. The additional funding is intended to support the ongoing grape harvest by facilitating grape purchases from local winegrowers.
According to the latest decree issued on September 30, the subsidy amount has been raised from GEL 50 million to GEL 75 million. The state company will use these funds to purchase Saperavi grapes at GEL 1.5 per kilogram and Rkatsiteli and other varieties at GEL 1.2 per kilogram.
Overall, the Crop Management Company plans to spend around GEL 100 million on buying grapes and processing them into wine material and brandy. In August, the company received approval from the State Procurement Agency to use GEL 50 million, while an additional GEL 50 million request submitted on September 22 is still pending authorization.
According to the National Wine Agency, as part of the 2025 harvest, winemakers have already processed about 214,000 tons of grapes in Kakheti and 120 tons in Racha, reflecting active state participation in stabilizing the grape market and supporting local producers.
