In the second quarter of 2026, 65% of people employed in Georgia’s business sector were based in Tbilisi, according to Geostat’s business sector activity data.
The average number of employees nationwide reached 828,354, up by 4.1% year-on-year.
By region, employees were distributed as follows: Tbilisi – 65%; Adjara – 9.7%; Imereti – 6.5%; Kvemo Kartli – 5.3%; Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 3.5%; Kakheti – 3.0%.
The remaining shares were: Shida Kartli – 2.2%; Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 1.8%; Samtskhe-Javakheti – 1.6%; Guria – 0.9%; and Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 0.3%.
