The National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) published indicators of social protection. In 2022, the number of persons receiving pensions was 808 326 in Georgia, out of which 71.3% were women and 28.7% were men.
Accoridng to the document, considering regional distribution 29.9% of persons receiving pension are from Tbilisi, 16% from Imereti, 10.6% -from Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 9.8% from Kvemo Kartli, 8.8% from Kakheti and 24.9% from other regions.
The total number of persons receiving social packages made up 178 426, out of which 33.3% are women and 66.7% – men. Among the persons receiving social package 70.6% are persons with disabilities, 12.8% are war participants, 12% are survivor's persons, 4.4% - state compensation receivers, and 0.2% – others.
Considering regional distribution, 27.1% of persons receiving social package are from Tbilisi, 16.6% from Imereti, 11.5% from Adjara, 9.6% - Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and 35.2% from other regions.
In 2022, the number of families registered in the database of social programs amounted to 369 515 while the number of families receiving subsistence allowance - 149 864.
The highest number of registered families was registered in Tbilisi - amounted to 70.9 thousands, while the number of household allowance recipients was 36.6 thousands.
