Deputy Ministers of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Lasha Avaliani and Lasha Dolidze, met with cattle farmers, meat importers, and distributors to discuss the development of large-scale cattle farms. The meeting focused on sector challenges, the domestic and export market situation, state program development, support for artificial insemination, pasture access, and breed diversity improvement.

Special attention was given to the shortage of beef and young live cattle, as well as challenges in supplying livestock. The officials emphasized that state support for the livestock sector will continue, with plans to modernize existing programs and better align them with farmers’ needs.

“Agricultural sector feedback will guide the ministry’s actions to strengthen the industry. Regular consultations will ensure that future decisions are pre-agreed and tailored to the sector’s interests,” Avaliani stated. Farmers also highlighted the importance of supporting small-scale farms as a critical aspect of sector development.

The meeting was attended by the head of the National Food Agency, Giorgi Iakobashvili, and representatives from relevant ministry departments. The ministry emphasized its commitment to ongoing engagement and sector-specific support initiatives.
