AgroKiziki is nearing completion of a modern farm near Norio in Gardabani Municipality, with an investment of GEL 3.5 million. Founder Beka Gonashvili says the facility’s modern technology will allow the company to significantly expand both live livestock exports and domestic meat production.

Once fully operational, the farm will be able to handle around 100,000-120,000 sheep annually, mainly for export to Arab countries, either live or as meat. It will also have capacity to fatten up to 6,000 cattle a year, with the company aiming to eventually meet 5-10% of domestic demand.

Gonashvili said his long-term goal is to improve livestock genetics in Georgia and shift small farmers toward meat production rather than traditional dairy farming. He believes stronger local production could reduce Georgia’s reliance on importing livestock from distant markets such as Europe and Brazil.

He also called for a more integrated meat-production chain linking farmers, livestock fatteners, processors and major retailers. Gonashvili said better cooperation and joint planning are essential for sector development and noted that AgroKiziki is already negotiating with two companies to jointly import livestock for fattening.
