Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia Gnel Sanosyan stated that as of today all highways in the disaster zone are passable, but not for heavy-duty vehicles.

According to him, temporary solutions have been found, and filling of the soil has been carried out on the collapsed sections. "Active work is underway to convert the former railway bridge into a transportation one," the minister said.

On Tuesday, June 3, according to him, concrete work was carried out on this bridge to alleviate the problem associated with cargoes delivered to Armenia or exported from Armenia within a few days.

Earlier, BMG reported that the Armenian government declared several settlements in Lori and Tavush provinces disaster zones following severe floods caused by heavy rains on May 25-26, 2024.

As a result of the disaster, 4 people died, 18 bridges were destroyed, and 7 settlements were cut off from the rest of the region. To address the urgent needs of the local population, 300 million drams (approximately $800,000) have already been allocated.
