By the end of 2025, nearly half of the 1,914,908 registered vehicles in Georgia were located in Tbilisi, accounting for 44.6% of the total. According to Geostat, the total number of registered vehicles in the country increased by 6.9% year-on-year, meaning 124,321 vehicles were added during 2025. Most of the registered vehicles, 1,650,048 units, are passenger cars.

In Tbilisi alone, 855,002 vehicles are registered, including 766,748 passenger cars. Other regions with large numbers of vehicles include Imereti (213,316), Kvemo Kartli (165,126), Kakheti (152,259), and Adjara (131,187). Smaller figures were recorded in regions such as Racha-Lechkhumi, Kvemo Svaneti (11,401) and Abkhazia (11,909).

The data also shows that Georgia’s vehicle fleet is relatively old. Around 80.4% of vehicles are more than 10 years old, while 13.8% are between 5 and 10 years old. Only 3.2% are 2–5 years old, and 2% are under two years old.

In Tbilisi, the number of vehicles older than 10 years rose by 14.3% to 582,668 in 2025. The share of older vehicles is particularly high in Imereti and Kvemo Kartli, where over 91% of registered vehicles are more than 10 years old, highlighting the aging structure of the country’s vehicle fleet.
