AltiHut Enters New Stage of Development with EUR 500,000 Investment

ALTIHUT

Alpine hotel AltiHut is entering a new phase of development, with plans to expand its infrastructure and ecosystem at an altitude of 3,014 meters through an investment of over €500,000. The project aims to enhance the alpine experience while maintaining harmony with the natural environment.

Founder Nikoloz Alavidze told BM.GE that despite setbacks with a previous charity project, Rescue Hut, at 3,700 meters, the development of AltiHut continues unabated.

“We are expanding the Alti-infrastructure and ecosystem on the territory we own. Using ecological, modern, and natural materials, we aim to create a unique architectural masterpiece in full harmony with the environment. Our goal is for this place to become a global example of modern Georgian architecture and Georgian-Swiss cooperation,” he said.

As part of this new phase, five small hotel-type cottages, each 50 m², will be added to the facility to accommodate families and small groups. Designed by architectural company STIPFOLD, the cottages feature an exterior made of continuous fiber concrete that blends naturally with the mountain terrain, while the interiors use natural wood tones to provide warmth and simplicity. Initially, three cottages will be built alongside one existing rescue hut.

Alavidze emphasized that AltiHut’s mission has always been to improve safety standards in the Alpine zone, and the expansion project continues this focus. By combining modern architecture with environmental sensitivity, AltiHut seeks to offer both a safe and unforgettable alpine experience for visitors.
