Tbilisi Prosecutor’s Office has arrested Sofiko Petriashvili, another member of the group operating under “Sfero Holding” and “Sfero Invest,” in connection with a large-scale fraud scheme. Investigators say the group defrauded citizens of more than GEL 29 million. Petriashvili, who was detained on February 4, allegedly worked alongside company founder Givi Tsuleiskiri and director Giorgi Murusidze.

According to the investigation, the defendants created “Sfero Invest” to attract money from individuals through contracts for temporary housing and so-called investment packages. Petriashvili’s role included negotiating with potential clients and convincing them to sign contracts. Citizens transferred funds to the company believing they would receive rental payments, monthly returns, and full reimbursement - promises the company never fulfilled.

From 2022 to 2025, the scheme affected more than 450 individuals, many of whom were left without housing, while the group unlawfully obtained over GEL 29 million. Petriashvili has been charged with group fraud under Article 180, which carries a sentence of up to nine years. Prosecutors plan to request pre-trial detention.

Tsuleiskiri and Murusidze were previously charged in November 2025 and remain in custody, with Murusidze currently undergoing extradition after being arrested abroad. Authorities say the investigation continues and the number of victims and total financial damage may increase as more cases are identified.
