"Apartments will become more expensive from March",- Otar Kachkachishvili, a lawyer of the Real Estate Association, told BM.GE.
According to Kachkachishvili, Russian citizens living on rent are gradually starting to buy apartments, which will further increase the demand and affect the price correspondingly.
"Those citizens who came to live in Georgia temporarily and rented apartments are not going to return, they have decided to buy property here. At the same time, a trend has emerged when one citizen [of Russia] buys 4-5 apartments and rents them to his fellow citizens. This trend will continue, I think that similar activations will make apartments more expensive at the beginning of spring. It is too early to say what the growth will be in percentage terms", says Otar Kachkachashvili.
The Real Estate Association notes that there is a shortage of apartments for rent in Tbilisi and Batumi, although the demand will decrease in the following months, and the prices will not increase.
